Qatar Genome Programme in two Forums of the World Innovation Summit on Health (WISH) 2016

| Qatar Genome Programme members took active roles in preparations for two Forums of the World Innovation Summit on Health (WISH) which were held in Doha in November 2016. The first forum is “Genomics in the Gulf Region and Islamic Ethics” chaired by Dr. Mohammed Ghaly and addressed the Islamic perspectives on the ethical management of incidental findings and how they can help develop culturally sensitive guidelines about genomics in the Muslim Arab world. The second Forum was “Precision Medicine” chaired by Dr. Victor Dzau and discussed recommendations on how precision medicine can be implemented based on the expertise of those at the forefront of its practice and development. QGP members participated actively in the drafting of the forum reports that were discussed at the summit, and also set on the two respective forum panels on the days of the meeting. |
