The Wellness and Lifestyle Initiative

The Wellness and Lifestyle Initiative

Overview

One of the major QPHI translational initiatives is to deliver back genomic wellness and lifestyle reports to QPHI participants. The initiative aims to bridge the knowledge gap amongst local community on genetic information and association with wellness and lifestyle traits. In this personalized report, participants are empowered with insights into their genetic predispositions to 29 different traits, including obesity, eating behavior, reactions to food, exercise, cholesterol, and type 2 diabetes. In collaboration with our stakeholders, QPHI started returning such results leveraging community and public with knowledge from the recent research at the time of the report's design. Combined with genetic counselling education, the reports enable participants to make informed decisions to adopt healthy lifestyle choices.
