Dr. Amal Elfatih, MBBS, Ph.D., is a Senior Research Specialist at the Qatar Precision Health Institute, with extensive experience in clinical research, genomics, and translational medicine across academic and clinical settings. Her work focuses on integrating genomics into healthcare and advancing the translational applications of precision medicine. She analyzes large-scale whole-genome sequencing datasets from the Qatari population to identify clinically relevant genetic variants and collaborates closely with clinicians to translate these genomic insights into patient care, facilitating the integration of genetic testing and counseling into clinical practice. |
Dr. Elfatih earned her Ph.D. in Genomics and Precision Medicine from Hamad Bin Khalifa University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Research from Dresden International University, a Certificate in Principles and Practice of Clinical Research from Harvard University, and a medical degree from the University of Khartoum. |
She has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications on medically actionable genomic findings in high-impact journals and has presented her research at leading international conferences. Her contribution to the field was recognized with the Early Career Award for Outstanding Science at the European Human Genetics Conference. Additionally, Dr. Elfatih served as a Teaching Assistant at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, supporting the Principles and Practice of Clinical Research program. |
