A Decade of Innovation in Genomics and Precision Health
Qatar Precision Health institute (QPHI) represents over 12 years of groundbreaking achievements, building on the foundations of the Qatar Biobank (QBB) and the Qatar Genome Project (QGP). Since the establishment of Qatar Biobank in 2012, followed by Qatar Genome in 2015, QPHI has reached significant milestones, including the recruitment of nearly 50,000 participants, the sequencing of the first Qatari genome, the formation of the Qatar Genome Research Consortium, and the development of the pioneering Q-Chip. Other key accomplishments include providing researchers access to Qatar Biobank data and the launch of the Disease Genomics Database, further reinforcing Qatar’s leadership in precision medicine.
